Using Reedsy to Find an Editor

I'm looking for an editor

· Making of FG,Tools

I've had a few days this summer to finish up the manuscript for part one of our Fortune's Gate. It feels good to get the initial writing finished, but the journey to a final polished manuscript shouldn't end without a good editor review. I find myself in need of a skilled editor who can work with me to bring out the manuscripts full potential.

Good Ole Google

I started with some Google searching -- I found Jane Freidman's breakdown of the types of editing very useful in deciding what I'll need from an editor. Her post "The Comprehensive Guide to Finding, Hiring, and Working with an Editor" does a great job of covering the various kinds of editing and some common things to consider when teaming up with an editor.

I also found "Professional Editors To Help With Your Book" from The Creative Penn site to be a useful set of links to get a survery of editing options.

Good news: there are lots of options and opinions on the editing!

Maybe I Should Ask a Friend

With so much information out there and figured I might be best served by reaching out to friends. I asked my good friend Jamie Ortiz about his experience finding editors and he immediately directed me to Reedsy, a platform he and I had used years ago when it was in its infancy. After hearing about his recent experience, I've decided to give it a try.

Reedsy

Reedsy gives authors have a powerful tool at their disposal to simplify the process and connect with qualified professionals who can help elevate their work. The platform serves as a comprehensive marketplace where authors can connect with editors, proofreaders, cover designers, and other publishing professionals.
